The rulebook
- Basketball shoes only — nothing else is ever scored or shown.
- Your size and your budget are filters, not suggestions: a shoe has to prove both from published data.
- Traction, cushioning, support, court feel, weight and outdoor durability are read from the retailer's own words for that exact shoe.
- How you play sets the weights: a quick guard's score leans on grip, court feel and low weight; a post player's leans on support and impact protection.
- A shoe that says nothing about a trait scores it as unknown at half weight — we never count silence as a match.
- Colourways of the same model collapse into one recommendation, so you never see the same shoe twice.
- If we have to loosen a preference to find results, we say which one, in the results.
- Nothing is random: the same answers always produce the same ranking.
